Different Structures
- The motorized valve is composed of an electric actuator and a valve body.
- The solenoid valve is composed of a coil, a valve body, a pilot head, and a rubber pad. Generally speaking, the solenoid valve is smaller than the motorized valve. For smaller spaces, the solenoid valve can be used first.
Different Actuation Method
- Motorized valves are driven by an electric motor and are ready to open or close. The opening or closing action takes a certain amount of time to complete.
- Solenoid valves are driven by a solenoid coil and can open or close much faster than motorized valves. The fast action of solenoid valves makes them good at controlling fluids, gases and vapors.
Different Functions
- With a motorized valve, the degree of opening or closing of the valve can be controlled, so the electric valve has multiple states: open, closed, half-open/half-closed. The motorized valve in the half-open position can control the flow of the medium in the pipeline. Solenoid valves cannot meet this requirement.
- The opening and closing speed of the solenoid valve is faster than that of the electric valve, so the solenoid valve is often used in occasions where the open and closed positions are frequently switched, or in occasions with low flow and pressure. Another advantage of the solenoid valve is that it can be reset when the power is off, while the electric valve needs to be equipped with a reset device to achieve this function.

- Solenoid valves are used to close, release, meter, distribute or mix fluids. They are suitable for some special handling requirements, such as fluid medium leakage.
